Some plants need to be started indoors, while others can be sown directly in the soil. Many people buy they plants at a store. I did this for many years until I found out how easy it was to grow them from seed.It is also much cheaper to grow the plants from seed. You get many more plants for a fraction of the cost.

I know they sell a ton of those Jiffy seed starter kits, but if you have tried to use one in the past with no results, don't blame yourself. I have tried those and have not had much luck with plants actually making it to the garden. I am sure many people have, but I am not one of them.
